The variety is an ancient population that has been cultivated for centuries on terraces in the French Cévennes region. The bulbs have a round, flattened shape with a diameter of about 6–7 cm, possess yellow-brown outer scales, and pearly white, juicy flesh.
The produce is characterized by a low dry matter content and a low level of pyruvic acid, which ensures a mild taste. The variety is prone to bolting, but is distinguished by good keeping quality during the winter period.
