The Katana F1 hybrid belongs to the bunching onion type and is grown exclusively for its green leaves. The period from emergence to harvest maturity is about 50 days. The plant does not form a bulb, producing many pseudo-stems.
Leaves are erect, bluish-green, with a strong waxy bloom. The height of the plant is from 30 to 60 cm, weight — 40–55 g. The light-colored pseudo-stem reaches 6 cm in length with a diameter of less than 1 cm.
The hybrid has a semi-sharp taste and high green mass productivity, reaching 7–9 kg/m². The plant is heat-tolerant and frost-resistant, suitable for cultivation in open field, greenhouses, and home conditions.
