The Malbec F1 hybrid is an early-maturing onion variety of intermediate-day type with a maturation period of 80–90 days after transplanting. The plant has high vegetative vigor, contributing to foliage development and proper bulb formation.

The bulbs have a flattened-round shape and an intense dark red color of the outer and inner scales. They are characterized by density, uniformity in size, and good retention of protective scales. The hybrid is suitable for long-term storage, maintaining commercial quality for up to 6–8 months.

The variety possesses tolerance to bolting, downy mildew, and purple blotch; however, it is recommended to avoid planting in soils prone to pink root rot. The produce is intended for sale in the fresh vegetable market.
