The variety is an old local population that was lost in Romania and restored using seed samples obtained from a US gene bank. The plant is characterized by an elongated white bulb shape and is intended for cultivation by direct seeding in the open field.
This variety is considered a valuable genetic resource, historically adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the Buzău vegetable-growing basin. It is officially included in the registers as a traditional variety for the preservation of cultural heritage and commercial use.
