Siegfried 2 is a winter leek variety with medium-tall stems of a medium green color. Plants are distinguished by their resistance to lodging and ability to withstand heavy frosts.
The variety is intended for overwintering in the garden bed, with the flower stalk being produced relatively slowly in the spring. Hilling is required to obtain a high-quality blanched stem portion. Sowing to obtain an early spring harvest is recommended to be carried out in May, and fertilization should be stopped in August to preserve winter hardiness.
The variety is suitable for organic farming.
