The variety Wilau is known as an object of breeding and genetic research aimed at studying the mechanisms of male sterility caused by the recessive nuclear gene wi. In international practice, this variety is used as a reference when conducting tests for distinctness, uniformity, and stability.
The variety is not intended for mass commercial cultivation or home gardening. During experimental observations, it was noted that this sample has relatively low keeping quality. Information on specific agronomic characteristics, such as plant height or disease resistance, is absent in open publications.
