Variety description

The variety is tetraploid (4n). Breeding involved crossing populations of ecotypes from Iceland and Norway with genetic material characterized by low seed shattering. This variety was used as source material for breeding other varieties, including the variety Velox.

The plant is characterized by good mass formation after sowing, but reaches full productivity only in the second year. It possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to prolonged cold periods. It has a tendency to lodging at a level of 7 on a nine-point scale.

The variety is intended for use as a forage crop. Provided there is intensive fertilization and early mowing, it is possible to obtain up to four cuts per season.
