Variety description

The variety was created by individual selection from an Amaranthus hypochondriacus (K-14) sample and is intended for grain, fodder, and food use. The plant reaches a height of 170–220 cm and has a sturdy green-black stem.

Morphologically, the variety is distinguished by wide fleshy leaves with red veins and a compact dense red panicle up to 54 cm long. The small seeds are white in color, with a protein content of 20.6% and oil content of 6.5–7.0%.

The plant possesses high resistance to lodging and shattering, and is undemanding to the soil background. Seed yield under irrigation is 22–45 c/ha, and biomass yield reaches 150–250 c/ha.
