The Carnaval variety is distinguished by a bicolored spathe, combining a white color with red edges or shades of light yellow-orange and dark red. The flowers are large, with a diameter of 13 to 20 cm, and are scentless. The plant is evergreen with leathery leaves.

The variety is intended for commercial cultivation for cut flowers, with a productivity of about 86 flowers per 1 m² per year and a vase life of about 19 days. It is also available for sale as a potted crop. Scientific literature notes the variability of the plant's response during regeneration attempts in tissue cultures.
