The Sunny Day Astilbe variety belongs to hybrid astilbes and is often classified as Astilbe × arendsii. The plant forms a compact bush 40–50 cm high with dark green, twice or thrice pinnate foliage with serrated edges.
The inflorescences are paniculate, dense, and fluffy, ranging in color from pink to raspberry-red. The flowering period occurs from June–July. The winter hardiness zone of the variety corresponds to 4 according to the USDA classification.
The plant is intended for container cultivation, use as a specimen plant, group plantings, as well as for placement in shaded mixed borders and rock gardens.
