The Riina variety is used in breeding work and comparative grain quality studies, where the content of fats, dietary fibers, phenolic compounds, and avenanthramides is analyzed.

In UPOV documentation, the Riina variety is used as a reference when describing the morphological characteristics of the spikelet and the lemma. Specific data on agronomic indicators, such as plant height, maturity dates, or disease resistance, are absent in open publications.
