The variety is intended for use as a green manure. It is characterized by rapid development and the ability to intensively cover the soil, which suppresses the growth of weeds. The variety's effectiveness in reducing the number of root-knot nematodes in the soil by 50–70% is also noted.

The crop is sensitive to frosts. Among the diseases affecting black oat, barley yellow dwarf virus stands out, which manifests as reddening of the leaves. Quantitative indicators of plant height, precise flowering times, and detailed quality characteristics for the variety have not been determined.
