The variety belongs to the Begonia x hiemalis group, which is a sterile interspecific hybrid of B. socotrana and B. tuberhybrida, intended for vegetative propagation. It is part of the Ilona Collection and is used primarily as an indoor pot plant or an annual in shaded locations.

The plant's flowers are double, of an intense orange hue, and are sometimes classified as semi-double. The flowering is abundant and, under appropriate conditions, can continue from spring until frost. The variety possesses pronounced heat tolerance and stability of development.
