The Laressa variety belongs to the group of flowering pot begonias Begonia × hiemalis, also known as Begonia Elatior. The plant has a compact bush habit.

When growing this variety, the use of supplemental lighting helps maintain compactness and increases the number of lateral shoots. Adjusting the light regime allows the production cycle of the plant to be shortened by 2–3 weeks, depending on growing conditions.
