The variety belongs to the leafy category and specializes in the production of baby leaves, including for vertical farms. Externally, the plant's leaves and stems have a deep dark red color and resemble chard.
The plant is not a classic root variety for obtaining a large root crop. The maturity period when grown for greens is about 35 days.
The variety has been used in scientific research, in particular when testing for susceptibility to fungal diseases, such as Rhizoctonia solani.
