The sugar beet variety Monriz possesses resistance to rhizomania. In scientific studies, this variety was examined in the context of assessing plant susceptibility to beet mosaic virus (BtMV).
The variety was mentioned in publications from the early 2000s as registered in Slovakia; however, in 2003 documentation, it was included in the list of varieties whose registration had been withdrawn.
