The variety belongs to the genetically monogerm type. During the 1970s, it was widely used in agricultural trials and served as a standard for comparing yield and technological qualities with new sugar beet hybrids.
The variety demonstrated performance in germination and response to plant density, and was included in the recommendations of the National Institute of Agricultural Botany of the United Kingdom for 18 years. At present, the variety is not relevant for commercial cultivation.
