The variety is a natural mutation of Bougainvillea spectabilis ‘Vera Light Purple’. The plant has a compact, bushy, upright form, which distinguishes it from vigorous vine-like varieties of the crop. The leaves are broad, dark green, with a copper-bronze hue present on young shoots; the stems feature thorns.

The bracts are colored in a rich fuchsia-crimson, which lightens to pink tones as the bloom fades. The plant is heat-loving and drought-tolerant, lacks winter hardiness, and requires indoor maintenance in cold climates. The variety is capable of prolonged and often year-round flowering, and is resistant to changes in day length.
