Variety description

The variety was obtained through domestication and selection of local wild populations. In scientific literature, the classification of the species varies between Brachypodium hybridum and Brachypodium distachyon. The plant is characterized by a short or medium development cycle and is used for establishing a perennial vegetation layer.

In the first year after sowing, the variety grows slowly. It is capable of self-seeding and is suitable for use with minimum tillage. After drying, the plant forms stable residues that continue to protect the soil surface from erosion.
