The Acropolis variety is a product of the University of Guelph breeding program and belongs to the canola type characterized by low erucic acid and glucosinolate content. In materials from past decades, it was mentioned as a high-yielding crop whose performance exceeded the level of contemporaries common at the time by 40%.
This variety demonstrated sensitivity to adverse weather conditions. It was used to a limited extent in scientific research, in particular, in the study of plant interaction with the cabbage seedpod weevil. At present, the variety is archival material and is not represented in modern production catalogs.
