The historical rapeseed variety Arabella belongs to the "00" category with low erucic acid and glucosinolate content. In a number of studies, it is used as a reference sample for comparison with modern lines and hybrids, with note taken of its susceptibility to white mold under trial conditions.
Modern commercial rapeseed varieties under the name Arabella are characterized as high-yielding, possessing winter hardiness and resistance to phoma stem canker with the RLM7 gene. The name Arabella is also used for varieties of other agricultural crops, including wheat and strawberry.
