The variety belongs to the "00-types," characterized by low erucic acid and glucosinolate content. In scientific literature, it is known as a carrier of the Rlm3 resistance gene to phoma stem canker (Leptosphaeria maculans) and as a subject for studying resistance to branched broomrape (Phelipanche ramosa).
The variety was used in genetic research and analyses of fatty acid composition and seed quality. At present, Grizzly is not a current commercial offering and is not represented in modern seed market catalogs.
