The Coronado F1 hybrid is based on a cytoplasmic male sterility system and is intended primarily for crown cutting. The variety possesses resistance to clubroot race 7.

The Coronado Crown variant forms heads with fine beads. The plant shows tolerance to black rot, downy mildew, as well as resistance to stressful weather conditions and frosts.
