The Oslo variety is a low-growing plant with a pyramidal shrub shape, the height of which is 20–30 cm, and the width is 18–24 cm. The leaves are small, scale-like, about 2 cm long, colored green with a characteristic yellow coating.

The plant is used in landscape design for edging, garden paths, rock gardens, and creating floral compositions. Cultivation requires acidic, peaty, moderately moist soils and good lighting.
