The plant forms tall, stately upright flower stalks. The inflorescences are long and dense, consisting of star-shaped flowers of a blue-violet shade. The plant height is approximately 70 cm.
Flowering occurs during the period from May to June. The plant prefers nutritious, moderately moist soils and is capable of growing on both sandy and heavy clay soils in the absence of water stagnation. The crop is characterized by high winter hardiness and is capable of naturalizing on the site.
