The Matterhorn CBG variety is an industrial one and was bred for stable cannabigerol production. It is designed to obtain a specific chemical composition distinct from varieties grown for CBD or industrial fiber.

The genetics of the variety were aimed at achieving a high percentage of CBG while maintaining low levels of the psychoactive component THC, making it in demand for specialized agrotechnical sectors.
