The Almuden variety is an elongated sweet pepper hybrid belonging to the "Lamuyo" type. It is intended for sale on the fresh market and is adapted for cultivation in protected ground conditions, including growing on substrates such as mineral wool.
The plant possesses complex disease resistance. Specifically, the variety is used as an object for studying resistance to pathogens, including Phytophthora capsici and Meloidogyne incognita. Almuden is also used in experimental work as a scion or rootstock for grafting.
