The variety originates from the Pella region, a mountainous area of Almopia. The fruits are traditionally dried over a wood fire smoke for 10 days, which gives the final product its characteristic aroma and taste.
The plant is considered a productive variety, adapted to organic farming conditions and responsive to the application of organic fertilizers. Precise data on maturity dates, plant height, and disease resistance are absent in publications.
