The fruit ripening period is about 110 days. The plant is compact, reaching a height of 50 cm to 1 m, which allows for cultivation in containers. Stems and foliage are green.
Fruits weighing 20–50 g resemble a miniature bell or lantern in shape, have a ribbed, wrinkled surface and thin skin. The flesh is thin, crunchy, and has a sweet taste with mild pungency from 100 to 1000 Scoville heat units.
The variety is a traditional heirloom cultivar from the Rhône Valley region. The fruits are used primarily for stuffing and drying.
