The plant is of medium vigor, reaching a height of 50 to 75 cm. The fruits have a round, flattened shape with a smooth surface and small grooves, resembling tomatoes in appearance. At technical maturity, the fruits are dark green, turning bright red upon full ripening.
The fruits have thick flesh; the taste is characterized as fruity, sweet, with a slight spiciness. The variety is traditionally used in Southern Italy for preparing pepper preserves, stuffing with tuna, capers, and anchovies, as well as for drying and grilling.
