The variety is a hybrid of Hungarian breeding, representing an important genetic source for creating lines with complex resistance to diseases. The main feature is the presence of the L3 gene, which provides genetically determined resistance to tobamoviruses. Its resistance to cucumber mosaic virus and Phytophthora capsici was also studied.
Fruits in technical maturity are dark green in color, and in botanical maturity are deep red. According to morphological characteristics, the variety is classified in the Conioides or Longum groups (pointed pepper). The plant is more often considered as breeding material than as a commodity crop for mass cultivation.
