The Oranj variety belongs to the species Capsicum annuum L. of the longum variety. The plant is part of the collection of the Vegetable Research and Development Station in Iernut and is used in scientific work on seed production and the conservation of genetic resources.
During field trials, an average plant height of 64.44 cm was recorded, with a range of values from 56.07 to 72.81 cm. The average fruit length is 17.57 cm. The variety is included in breeding research, although detailed information on disease resistance or exact maturity dates is limited.
