The plant is compact, reaches a height of 50–80 cm, and is suitable for open field, greenhouses, and container cultivation. The growing season lasts from 75 to 110 days. The fruits are 6–10 cm long, with thin skin and a wrinkled surface. During the ripening process, they change color from green to red.
The flavor of the fruits is spicy with sweet notes, while the pungency usually varies from 50 to 200 SHU, although about 10–12% of the fruits may be significantly hotter than the others. In cooking, green fruits are primarily valued, as the skin becomes tougher when fully ripened to red. The variety is traditionally used for frying whole.
