The variety is early or mid-early: the period from emergence to technical ripeness is from 70 to 120 days. The bushes are compact, their height varies from 45 to 90 cm, which allows them to be used in open field, film shelters, and container cultivation. Dense foliage provides protection for the fruits from sunburn.
The fruits have a blocky or elongated-blocky shape, often four-lobed, with a weight of 180 to 300 g. Wall thickness is 5–8 mm. At technical ripeness, the fruits are dark green; at biological ripeness, they are bright red. The variety has resistance to tobacco mosaic virus and is sensitive to extremely high temperatures during the fruit-setting period.
The Yolo Wonder A version is a breeding line selected for uniform fruit shape and resistance to viruses. The variety is undemanding; the fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, stuffing, making lecho, and freezing.
