The Konczewicki variety is a biennial crop. In the first year of life, it forms a rosette of leaves and a root, and in the second year, it develops flowering stems 100–120 cm tall, after which the plant dies. The seed harvest is collected in the second year of vegetation.

The plant is characterized by moderate foliage on the stems in the seed formation zone, which facilitates harvesting. The essential oil content in the fruits ranges from 3.2% to 5%. The variety is sensitive to fungal diseases, in particular to Septoria, especially under conditions of high humidity and high air temperature.

The seeds are used in cooking and medicine as an antispasmodic and carminative agent. Young leaves and roots of the plant can also be consumed.
