The variety 'Madagascar' is an evergreen shrub reaching 1.5 meters in height and width. The plant is characterized by narrow leaves with a dark green center and a yellowish-green margin.

Flowering occurs in spring, in May–June, with flowers of a deep blue-cyan shade. The variety is drought-tolerant, prefers sunny, sheltered locations and well-drained soils.
