The variety «Atlas» is breeding material created to expand the quinoa cultivation area in Europe. One of the main objectives during its development was to reduce the concentration of saponins in the seeds, which simplifies the process of their processing and removal of bitterness.

Under the conditions of North-Western Europe, the variety demonstrates a high protein content in the seeds with relatively lower yield indicators compared to a number of other varieties. Studies also evaluated the adaptation potential of the variety in various climatic zones, such as the regions of Iran.
