The variety was selected from Chilean coastal germplasm material as part of the CPRO-DLO breeding programs. It is intended for cultivation in regions where late-flowering varieties are unable to produce a high-quality yield due to climatic constraints.

The plant is distinguished by its short stature and the presence of a compact panicle. The seeds of the variety contain saponins in a medium concentration. The crop is used in scientific research on the nutritional value of seeds, and breeding work on it is aimed at increasing yield and reducing saponin levels.
