The variety belongs to the category of local Romanian varieties. The plant shows high adaptability to soil and climatic conditions; yield indicators range from 2031 to 2994 kg/ha depending on the year and fertilizer level.

The Burnas chickpea variety is characterized by a low content of anti-nutritional factors, such as trypsin inhibitors, compared to other legumes. During cultivation, resistance to high temperatures is noted, as well as the absence of yield losses due to resistance to pod shattering during maturation.
