The variety was developed based on material from the ICRISAT center. The plant is of a semi-erect type, has purple pigmentation on stems and leaves, and dark pink flowers.
The seeds are large (macrosperma type) and black in color. The variety is characterized by high earliness: flowering begins at the end of March, and the ripening period is very short.
