The variety forms uniform, consistent rosettes with an upright growth habit. The leaves are broad, less dissected than those of curly varieties, and are distinguished by the presence of wide white ribs.
The plant is intended primarily for an autumn-winter cultivation cycle. The leaves have a crunchy texture; to reduce bitterness and blanch the central part of the rosette, it is recommended to tie or cover the plant with light-impermeable material.
The variety is used for fresh consumption. Despite the presence of the word «Riccia» in the name, the variety belongs to the broad-leaved endive group, not the curly frisée type.
