The variety forms a uniform rosette 18–22 cm in height. The leaves have a deep red color and prominent white, fleshy central veins. The plant does not belong to the witloof group and is not intended for the forcing of blanched heads.
The variety is intended for autumn harvest, with technical maturity reached 80–90 days after planting. The produce is characterized by good keeping quality when stored in cold chambers until mid-February. The crop requires low fertilizer and heat inputs and is suitable for fresh consumption, baking, and grilling.
