The variety belongs to an industrial type grown exclusively for root production. This distinguishes it from salad or leafy forms of chicory, such as witloof or radicchio.
During field trials, the variety demonstrated high root yield indices by mass in comparison with other varieties. The inulin content in the roots can vary and is lower than that of some other specialized varieties.
