Variety description

10 August 2026

The plant is an evergreen shrub or small tree with spreading branches and sparse thorns. Height in open field reaches 3–6 meters, while in indoor cultivation it is limited to 1–1.5 meters. The leaves are leathery, large, pale green in color, and oblong-elliptical in shape with serrated edges.

The fruits are large, bright yellow, and reach 12–40 cm in length. They are segmented into outgrowths resembling fingers and are divided into two types: open and closed. Inside the fruit, there is no pulp, juice, or seeds; the primary value is the thick, aromatic peel with a pleasant sweet-bland taste.

Flowering and fruiting occur periodically throughout the year, with peaks of activity in spring and autumn. The crop is heat-loving, sensitive to frosts, and requires high-quality soil drainage. It is used as a decorative plant, in religious rituals, and as a culinary raw material for candied fruits and flavoring.
