The object is a nucellar selection and is used as a rootstock for various citrus species, including lemon and bergamot. It provides high vigor to grafted plants.

The plant possesses resistance to high boron content and soil salinity. However, it exhibits sensitivity to the citrus tristeza virus, which limits the use of the rootstock in regions where this pathogen is prevalent.
