The variety is a hybrid whose seeds were irradiated during development. The tree has a moderately spreading crown and thornless shoots. Fruits are round to oblate in shape, reaching 50–75 mm in diameter. The peel is smooth, ranges in color from orange to dark red, and is resistant to rain and mechanical damage.
Fruits ripen late: from July to August in the Southern Hemisphere and from December to January in the Northern Hemisphere. Taste qualities are characterized as excellent, and the flesh is firm. The variety shows resistance to Alternaria, but is prone to alternate bearing when fruits are left on the tree and is susceptible to fruit splitting at the end of the season.
When grown in isolated blocks, the fruits do not form seeds; however, cross-pollination is possible in mixed plantings. Carrizo citrange is predominantly used as a rootstock for this variety.
