The variety is a natural mutation of the Owari variety. The tree is characterized by a drooping crown shape, high growth vigor, and no tendency toward biennial bearing. Flowering occurs two weeks later than that of the Owari variety. The variety exhibits resistance to the citrus leaf miner.

The fruits have an oblate shape, a weight of 90–110 g, and a diameter of 58–68 mm. The peel separates easily from the flesh, the color of which varies from light to dark orange. The flesh is juicy, sweet, and seedless. The ripening period is 3–4 weeks later than traditional Satsuma varieties.
