The variety was obtained by open pollination of Miho Wase satsuma; Nova, Ellendale, or Novelty varieties are considered as probable pollinators. The plant is a mandarin whose fruits have an average weight of about 140 g, a length of 75 mm, and a diameter of 60 mm.

The fruits are distinguished by an oblate shape, the presence of square 'shoulders', and a weakly expressed area at the calyx. The main breeding objectives were to improve the appearance of the peel, facilitate the peeling process, and ensure high taste qualities.
