The BITTERS C22 rootstock is a hybrid of Citrus sunki and Poncirus trifoliata (Swingle trifoliate orange). It belongs to semi-dwarfing rootstocks, thanks to which trees grafted onto it have more compact sizes compared to traditional forms.
The plant possesses good resistance to calcareous soils and high drought tolerance. The rootstock demonstrates tolerance to the citrus tristeza virus. Its influence on fruiting efficiency and product quality depends on the characteristics of the specific scion.
