The variety was obtained during breeding work as a mutation of the Owari variety. In official documentation, it is classified as a Satsuma group mandarin (Citrus unshiu).
The variety is late-ripening and intended for industrial production of fresh fruit. This variety allows for extending the Satsuma sales season after the harvest of other varieties of this group is completed.
